National Handwashing Day

Staff Nurse Keri Purdy is the lead nurse for infection control at the Tees Valley Treatment Centre in Middlesbrough. Informing and educating staff with the latest infection control protocols is a key remit of the role and National Handwashing Day provided an ideal opprtunity to reinforce the importance of effective handwashing with staff, patients and consultants. Several staff refresher workshops were held and educational posters were prominent within the unit - whilst Staff Nurse Purdy manned an information stand display, talked to patients and handed out freebies.
